Due to the unprecedented nature of the current situation revolving around COVID-19 many counties and areas across our state are on “Dont Go”, “Lockdown”, or “Shutter in Place” orders. Unfortunately, as we all know, nature does not “Lockdown” and our trees, bushes, and fields need tended to accordingly. As such, the NC State Government and Dept. of Agriculture have worked together to deem Our industry as an “Essential Business”. What this means is that during a “Lockdown”, you and your employees may continue to travel to and from places and property that are pertinent to your Business.
The situation is very fluid, so it is up to you to stay informed, as things may change, but as of now the following letter and documents, issued by the Commissioner of Agriculture, Steve Troxler will serve as a notice to Law Enforcement in the even that you or your employees are stopped or questioned during a “Lockdown” situation. Please respectfully provide any who may ask the following documents and have them follow the instructions if they need further information.
Also, please keep in mind “Lockdown” protocols are in place for a reason, and only provide the document to employees you deem essential within your organization, things are difficult for everyone at this time and the Dept. of Agriculture are expecting folks to use this pass responsibly and by providing and signing the document you and your organization are vouching for said employee. If you have any questions please contact one of the NCAGA Board Members.
Last but not least, everyone please practice good judgement, practice patience, and stay safe!
